The Next Generation Oil and Gas group (NGO&G) is a consortium of 65 CEOs and senior Corporate Officers from small, mid, and large cap O&G producers who are active in their companies on a strategy level, but also have an eye for next generation technologies. Together with William Doll from GDS, the NGO&G group organizes highly interactive 3-day strategy sessions. The program topics for the summit are set entirely by industry members.
The summit combines high-level roundtable discussions with next generation technology solutions that address the most pressing challenges the industry faces. The format is structured enough to effectively organize roundtable discussions on all the most pressing topics, but open enough to allow for changes that will inevitably occur when 65 industry leaders interact over 3 days. Of course, with the most recent explosions in the GOM, there is a big focus on HSE. However, some of the other discussion topics include:
• Subsea solutions
• New drilling technologies
• Next generation exploration tools
• Small and mid-sized EPC projects
• Data management solutions
We continue to see an active M&A market in the group, and there will be a high level discussion on proposed federal regulation, as well as production from new conventional reserves in the US.
The NGO&G Group has an advisory board called the O&G 20. The purpose of the O&G 20 is to set the program agenda for the summits and also to nominate potential participants. The most recent O&G 20 meeting was held on Aug 5th, 2010 at the Houstonian. To view photos from the O&G 20, please follow this link: Photos of the O&G 20 Meeting.
This summit is invitation-only, which is why access to the web site is password protected. If you would like to find out more about the program or attendees, please contact William Doll.

"The structure of this event is very useful. The one on one meetings were great. We came here to test some ideas and this format worked extremely well."
